“Great tour and Gabriel was great funny and could sing a good Irish tune. The tour was rewarding and interesting. I would say one bad thing the weather here is unpredictable so be prepared for rain. Saying that be careful getting on and off the bus. When wet the first 4 stairs onto and off the bus are slippery. Take your time and enjoy all you can hear, taste, see and drink.”

Gordon, our driver, literally knew everything and everyone - he introduced us to lots of locals and gave great recommendations and even hung out with us at the pub in the evenings. “Covered a great deal of Ireland with knowledgeable guides. The bus drivers and tour guides were very good as a whole. Railtours Ireland is run by a number of well meaning 70 and 80 year old retired gentleman who need to retire themselves or bring in some younger and female guides. They need to watch their hopefully unintentional sexist and racist comments. This is not a first class tour company as their motto says. “Poor customer service by driver: 1 driver never left his seat to help with luggage or to direct to B and B. The male passengers on tour had to unload van.. Driver did not assist passenger who tripped and fell out of van close to a busy street. 2 driver consistently tailgates, exceeded speed limits and passed multiple cars/busses on narrow roads 3passengers had to ask repeatidly ask for Ac to be turned on while he had his window open. 4 driver gave minimal dialogue and did not give assistance in planning for the day. “Abbiamo fatto il tour di 6 giorni e ci è piaciuto molto. Si visita l' Irlanda in lungo ed in largo, anche se un po' frettolosamente. E' chiaro che i Km sono tanti e per questo motivo le giornate sono molto intense. “The itinerary was not followed. They zig zagged across the country instead of a logical path around like the itinerary stated it would be. This made it so you only had 15 minutes at some destinations. We spent more time at gas stations than at some of our planned destinations. We spent more time on the bus doing it this way as well. The guide was rude when you would ask a question and talked bad about previous people who had done the tour. The guide stated that they made the reservations for hotels everyday and that would determine where we ended up based on what was available that day.…”
